Universal Orlando travel agent
Three theme parks, a water park, and eleven hotels with wildly different perks — Universal is the trip families most often get wrong on their own. I plan the whole thing for you, and it costs you nothing.
A Universal Orlando travel agent costs you nothing. Universal pays the commission out of the booking, so your package price is identical to booking direct — you just get the hotel comparison, Express Pass math, ticket structure and a day-by-day park plan included.
Universal has changed more in the last two years than it did in the previous ten. Epic Universe opened as a third full-scale park, which turned a comfortable three-day trip into a five-day one and rearranged how every hotel, ticket and Express Pass decision fits together. Most of the planning advice families find online was written before that happened.
That's the gap I work in. Disney gets the attention — there are hundreds of agencies that book nothing else — and Universal gets treated as an add-on day. It isn't. Done properly it's a full vacation, and done improperly it's the trip where you pay for a park you never had time to enter.
What I actually do for a Universal trip
- Pick the hotel that pays for itself. This is the whole game at Universal, and I'll come back to it below.
- Get the ticket structure right. Park-to-park versus single park, how many days, whether Epic Universe is bundled or separate, and whether a water park day earns its place. Universal's ticket menu is deliberately complicated and the cheapest-looking option is regularly the wrong one.
- Build the park order. Which park on which day, which mornings are worth an early start, and where the two halves of the Hogwarts Express should fall so you ride it in the right direction on the right day.
- Book dining and reserve what needs reserving. Fewer things need booking than at Disney, but the ones that do fill fast.
- Watch for promotions after you book. Universal releases offers throughout the year. A package that's already booked can usually be repriced when a better one lands — but only if someone is watching. That someone is me.
- Stay reachable during the trip. If a ride is down all morning or the weather turns, the plan changes. You text me, not a call centre.
The hotel decision is the whole trip
Universal's hotels fall into tiers, and the tier you choose changes far more than the size of your room.

Universal adjusts which parks and hotels are covered by these benefits periodically — Express Pass coverage at Epic Universe in particular has moved since the park opened. I confirm the current terms for your specific dates before you book anything, rather than repeating what was true last season.
The Express Pass calculation
Express Pass is the closest thing in Orlando to buying time back, and it's priced dynamically — on a peak December day it can cost more per person than the park ticket. The comparison that matters isn't "is Express Pass worth it," it's "is a Premier room with Express Pass included cheaper than a value room plus four Express Passes?" For a family of four on a busy week, it frequently is. For two adults in September, it frequently isn't. I run the actual numbers for your dates and party size rather than repeating a rule of thumb.

If you're combining Universal with Walt Disney World in one trip — which plenty of families do — the split, the order and where you stay in between all matter. I plan those together rather than as two separate vacations that happen to be in the same month.
Why book Universal with an agent at all
Booking direct puts you on a website that is optimised to sell you the package with the highest margin, not the one that fits your family. Nothing on that site tells you that your dates are a low-crowd week where Express Pass is unnecessary, or that moving the trip forward by nine days drops the room rate substantially, or that the ticket you're about to buy doesn't include the park your kids most want to see.

Most families need four to five park days to see Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure and Epic Universe without rushing, plus a sixth day if you want Volcano Bay. Three days works only if you're willing to skip a park.
Is Express Pass worth it at Universal Orlando?
On busy dates it's the single biggest difference-maker at Universal — more so than any equivalent at Disney. Staying at one of the Premier hotels can include Express Pass for everyone in your room, which often makes the higher room rate cheaper than buying the passes separately. Four to eight months ahead for peak dates like spring break, summer and the winter holidays. Universal releases promotions throughout the year, and a booked package can usually be repriced when a better offer appears — provided someone is watching for it.
